Study in Canada

It is important to note that a study permit is different from a visa. While a visa allows the individual to travel to and arrive in Canada, a study permit allows them to study in Canada. If an applicant’s study permit is accepted, a visa is issued to help the individual arrive in Canada.

Students at all levels of education, elementary, secondary and post secondary, can get study permits to study in Canadian schools, colleges and universities, which are Designated Learning Institutions (DLOa). There are specific regulations for each type of study permit, and they should be renewed so students’ studies are not interrupted.
